Avery Hudson

MSW, LCSW

We all develop defenses to keep ourselves safe, but over time, those same defenses can become barriers to growth and connection. I see therapy as a place to gently uncover those protective layers—understanding why they were needed—and then learning how to move beyond them toward empowerment, autonomy, and meaningful connection.

My role is to walk beside you, exploring the roots of your struggles and helping you build the insight and skills to move forward with confidence and compassion. I want our sessions to be a place where you feel understood, supported, and safe to grow.

I work through a person-in-environment lens, which means we’ll look at the bigger picture of your life and experiences. Together, we’ll stay curious about the “why” behind patterns, exploring how certain thoughts or behaviors may have once served a purpose.

More about me

I often use Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic practices, and other evidence-based approaches to help you recognize recurring patterns, process emotions in healthy ways, and create a life you truly want to live—not escape from. Along the way, we’ll celebrate the small victories, explore family and generational patterns, and find creative, meaningful ways to reconnect with your most authentic self.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. I work with children aged five and up, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing anxiety spectrum disorders, depression, grief, ADHD, Autism, trauma, and behavioral management challenges. I understand that these struggles can feel isolating and overwhelming, and I approach each client with the belief that no challenge is “too big” to overcome.
